Jamie Lee Curtis Shares First Image From Halloween Kills Shoot

Laurie Strode is back, back, back. After returning to battle Michael Myers once again in last year’s Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis is delving back into the fray in back-to-back sequels Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends. The shoot is now underway, and to mark the start of production Curtis has shared a selfie in her Strode costume, looking pretty banged up – all capped off with the enjoyably upbeat caption: “NEVER SAY DIE! First day back in the battle for my life!”

The upcoming sequels come once again from director David Gordon Green, from a script the filmmaker has co-written with Danny McBride. Judy Greer is also returning as Laurie’s daughter Karen. Green and McBride’s 2018 Halloween acted as a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s original 1978 movie, ignoring all the other sequels and finding Laurie Strode facing the spectre of The Shape, 40 years after she first fought him as a teenager.

The climax to the 2018 film saw – SPOILER ALERT – Laurie, Karen, and Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson team up to take Myers down, trapping the killer in the basement and setting their house on fire. Except, in true Halloween style, Myers isn’t dead after all – his ominous breathing can be heard at the end of the credits. The synopsis for Halloween Kills promises more carnage in Haddonfield at his hand: “Exactly two years after the events of the previous film, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), now trying to have a new life with her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak), returns home to Haddonfield. Unfortunately, on a Halloween night, Laurie’s appearance also brings about the return of Michael Myers, putting Laurie, Karen, and Allyson, along with Allyson’s friends, and the whole town of Haddonfield in danger.”

Halloween Kills will arrive in UK cinemas in just over a year on 16 October 2020, followed by Halloween Ends on 15 October 2021.
